A stunning and complete full day sightseeing tour of Paris in minibus and a visit of Versailles palace.
Constructed 2000 thousand years ago and divided in 20 districts, each one is a village with its own history and centres of interest.
Your professional guide will drive you to discover the most famous places and there will be 2 stops* within the tour.
You will see the Place de la Concorde with its Egyptian obelisk with its fountains, statues and columns, the Madeleine church, then the Opéra Garnier, Place Vendome with its column comitioned by Napoléon.
You will then take the Rivoli street before joining the Champs-Elysées Avenue. On the top is the Arc de Triomphe celebrating the Napoleon victories. After, you will go to see the Eiffel Tower* built for the Universal Exhibition in 1889.
You will follow the Seine river bank where are located most of the major historical buildings of the city: Le Grand and le Petit Palais, the Tuileries gardens..
You will cross the river Seine to join the left bank. You will pass by Notre-Dame Cathedral. You will continue with the Latin Quarter, Le Pantheon, the Luxembourg gardens, St Germain, St Sulpice churches, Les Invalides built in the 18th century where is Napoléon’s tomb.
You will finish this visit with the "village" of Montmartre* where you will have another 20 minutes to stroll around the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and to the Place du Tertre where all the historical artists and painters used to show their works.
During the excursion our guide will be at your disposal during the whole tour to tell you about the 2000 years history of the city.
Second part of your tour begins. Versailles is at ½ hour drive far from Paris. During the trip our guide will tell you about the story of the Palace and how the “cour” was living during the Sun King reign.
With its three chateaux, gardens and parks, Versailles is an immense estate. Louis XIV, called the Sun King, is the creative force of Versailles. He turned Versailles into a sumptuous estate and the symbol of absolute monarchy in the 17th century.
Louis Le Vau and then Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Charles Lebrun are the main architects both Versailles and the Grand Trianon and André Le Nôtre for the gardens.
You will visit the State Apartments with its 8 rooms, the Hall of Mirrors, the King and Queens’ apartments and since July 2006 some new rooms recently renovated, the Royal Chapel and the Royal Opera.
Your visit in the castle is with an audio-guide in your language. After this visit which lasts around 1 hour and 10 minutes, our guide will accompany you to the gardens.
Beyond the chateau, stretch the gardens and the park. At the foot of the chateau, Le Nôtre created the parterres, designed to be viewed from the terraces. You will see the Grande Perspective which draws the eye to the horizon with its Latona and Apollo fountains. You will stroll to the north and south parterres full of flowers. You will see the various groves in the gardens : the Baldroom and the Colonnade, the Enceladus…and some others our guide will let you discover.
On Saturday and Sunday from April to October there are the Musical Fountains show, included in the price. From April to October on the other days, there are the Musical Gardens, also included in the price.
Stroll around the fountains and admire the water jets, explore the groves while enjoying live music concert from Lully the most famous Versailles musical composer from the 17th century.
Our guide will drop you off at your hotel after this very intensive visit which will throw you back to the century of lights.
