In the morning, you will go to Versailles is at ½ hour drive far from Paris. During the trip our guide will tell you about the story of the Palace and how the “cour” was living during the Sun King reign.

With its three chateaux, gardens and parks, Versailles is an immense estate. Louis XIV, called the Sun King, is the creative force of Versailles. He turned Versailles into a sumptuous estate and the symbol of absolute monarchy in the 17th century.

Louis Le Vau and then Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Charles Lebrun are the main architects both Versailles and the Grand Trianon and André Le Nôtre for the gardens.

You will visit the State Apartments with its 8 rooms, the Hall of Mirrors, the King and Queens’ apartments and since July 2006 some new rooms recently renovated, the Royal Chapel and the Royal Opera. Your visit in the castle is with an audio-guide in your language. This is the only difference with a guided visit of Versailles (we also provide this tour).

After this visit which lasts around 1 hour and 10 minutes, our guide will accompany you to the gardens.

Beyond the chateau, stretch the gardens and the park. At the foot of the chateau, Le Nôtre created the parterres, designed to be viewed from the terraces. You will see the Grande Perspective which draws the eye to the horizon with its Latona and Apollo fountains. You will stroll to the north and south parterres full of flowers. You will see the various groves in the gardens : the Baldroom and the Colonnade, the Enceladus…and some others our guide will let you discover.

Stroll around the fountains and admire the water jets, explore the groves while enjoying live music concert from Lully the most famous Versailles musical composer from the 17th century.*

In the afternoon, discover the most important Museum in the world with our licensed guide. You will visit the main rooms of this temple of Arts.

You will first see the Pei Pyramid, the medieval foundations and start the visit by the Denon hall with the famous Samothrace victory on the top of the monumental Daru stair. You will go the “Grande Galerie” where are located most of the master pieces from the 13th to the 17th century oincluding those of Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Veronese, Tintoret and many others. You will then go to the Italian Galery and the rooms where are shown the “grands formats” of the French painters David, Delacroix, Géricault, Ingres, Fragonard. You will then look at Mona Lisa which has now a special large room dedicated to her.

The Museum is also famous for its Italian, French and Egyptian sculptures and the famous sphinx. You will see the master pieces of Michel Ange, Donatello and the Venus of Milo.

The Museum is a huge place. Our expert guide will optimise your visit in guiding you to the best places of interest. He will stay at your disposal to provide you all explanations and make you discover all the major treasures of the Museum.

The visit will last around 2 hours. After the visit, our guide will leave you either in the Museum if you want to deepen this visit by yourself or to the commercial gallery for shopping. He will tell you how to come back to your hotel which is quite easy as the Louvre is located in the centre of the city.
